Accenture Federal Services (AFS), a subsidiary of Accenture plc, announced a significant win, landing a $1.6 billion Task Order from the U.S. Air Force. This contract focuses on scaling and enhancing the Air Force’s Cloud One multi-cloud environment—a critical infrastructure designed to manage the force’s vast cloud operations efficiently. Justin Shirk, managing director of Mission Operations and Cloud Ecosystems at AFS, highlighted that Accenture’s role would involve optimizing the existing cloud environment to maximize Cloud One’s capabilities, supporting the Air Force’s evolving mission requirements.
AFS will deliver a comprehensive range of services, including multi-cloud billing and account management, aimed at enhancing cost efficiency and operational agility for the Air Force. With a contract duration of five years and three months, AFS’s managed cloud and software services are expected to align with the Air Force’s long-term cloud strategy, integrating Accenture’s expertise in cloud transformation and financial operations (FinOps). This project represents a significant investment in the modernization of federal IT infrastructure and emphasizes Accenture’s ongoing commitment to federal cloud initiatives.
In tandem with this contract, Accenture has also strengthened its technology offerings, notably expanding its partnership with NVIDIA Corp. to establish the Accenture NVIDIA Business Group. With 30,000 professionals trained globally, this group aims to accelerate AI adoption across industries, leveraging Accenture’s AI Refinery built on NVIDIA’s AI stack. This initiative promises to drive scalable AI solutions across the cloud ecosystem, signaling Accenture’s dedication to innovation and its potential to shape the future of cloud and AI applications across both public and private sectors.
